OPEN MAT - with Gemma Howard
|
Sunday 10th May 10:00-11:00
Having grown up dancing, my yoga practice began a few years ago whilst I was a student, when I attended classes as a way to challenge myself during an extended period of ill-health, but the habit quickly stuck. I took advantage of the variety of offerings in the yoga community in Manchester and soon decided that I wanted to be able to pay forward the sense of relaxation, connection, and enjoyment I had found through yoga. After moving back to Wiltshire last year, I initially completed yin yoga training, before beginning my yoga teacher training with Becky at Robyn's Yoga Studio. The training has been incredibly fulfilling, and I have already found planning and delivering classes to be a rewarding creative outlet, so aim to provide a friendly, non-judgemental space, where people can explore the options and progressions offered in my flows. Open Mat sessions are just £6 to attend and give newly qualified teachers who have graduated from our yoga teacher training the opportunity to gain experience teaching at the studio. £5 from each booking goes directly to the teacher. |
Sunday Morning Yin
|
Sunday 17th May 10:00-11:15
Join Lottie for a slow Sunday morning Yin practice. With props for support, we'll gently move through a sequence of longer-held shapes to access deeper tissues and layers within the body – restoring the smooth flow of Qi, easing tension, and shifting energetic stagnancy. Attuned to the energy of spring, this calm, spacious, and grounding class is designed to cultivate a sense of balance and renewal. Perfect for anyone curious about experiencing the rejuvenating qualities Yin. |
Progress Your Practice
|
Sunday 31st May 10:30-12:00
Join Paul to explore your yoga practice through a new lens. The workshop is based on the four pillars of strength, skills practice, movement beyond the mat and developing flexibility. Each pillar offers unique tools and approaches, allowing you to overcome obstacles in your physical practice and move towards a place of autonomy and confidence in your practice. Increase awareness during your personal practice and begin to understand how to implement these ideas to develop relevant strength, move freely, practice skills effectively and develop flexibility in a sustainable manner. Together we take a deep dive into the exercises and drills that make up the practical elements of progressing your practice. This workshop is suitable for practitioners of all levels and experience who are keen to grow in their personal practice and will provide you with the tools and insight to start making progress. |
The Sunday Session - With Sonia
|
Sunday 24th May 10:00-11:30
A special monthly 90-minute class, with each session led by a different teacher. Every instructor brings their own unique style and expertise, ensuring an exceptional and enriching experience. Sonia teaches challenging yet meditative Hatha vinyasa classes that not only improve flexibility and strength, but most importantly invite calmness and peace within while uncovering layers of non-truth. Her sequences feature longer holds of asanas so that the mind can, in time, find stillness through effort using yogic tools and techniques. Open to anyone and any body, both new and advanced practitioners can find new depths of practice: all that’s needed is the willingness to explore and playfulness to try. |
OPEN MAT - With Claire Woodhouse
|
Sunday 14th June 10:00-11:00
I've been a yoga student for over 25 years and working as a secondary school teacher for the same time, so am really excited to now combine these two skill sets and teach yoga lessons. My classes blend nearly 30 years of Iyengar yoga experience – a deep understanding of asanas and how to support and adapt with props – with elements of vinyasa flow for greater expression. Through focusing on yoga for strength and balance in the body, my aim is for students to develop their own understanding of how to establish this for the mind also. I teach a regular community class, accessible for all levels of experience. I suggest adaptations to the poses so each student can find a variation which offers a level of challenge suitable to their requirements for that lesson. I also enjoy practising yoga outdoors – contrasting the freedom of this experience with the more disciplined (and comfortable!) experience of an indoors class. Open Mat sessions are just £6 to attend and give newly qualified teachers who have graduated from our yoga teacher training the opportunity to gain experience teaching at the studio. £5 from each booking goes directly to the teacher. |
